I've often wanted to post about one off shows or specials and the like and have never been sure where to put them, or post about stuff that's coming on
but isn't part of a series. This post is prompted by ABC2 screening Keating! The Musical live tonight. If you have ABC2 and a passing interest in
musicals, Australian politics and / or recent history, or both - or simply enjoy a good guffaw or two - you could do a lot worse than tune in to this tonight.
I've seen Keating! twice now, once before the election and again earlier this year. Both times I cried with laughter, and often in exactly the same spots. So many great moments: the ghost of Prime Ministers past (Gough), Gareth Evans, the Dr John Hewson rap, Alexander Downer gets down'n'freaky, Cheryl Kernot, the election night special complete with Anthony Green and the usual ABC team, and of course there's guest appearances by Bobawke and John Winston Howard. If I had access to ABC2, I'd watch it again - and no doubt, laugh like a drain again.
