unfortunately the rotu alliance became bloody obvious, and they got pagonged. it was NOT as entertaining as people say.

the power shift was one of the most entertaining things in Survivor history. Definetly up there with one of the best series.

Was definatley one of my faves too. COuld have lived without the winner but it had some of the most awesome players ever, the rotu four, Boston Rob & Kathy & Hunter!!! I think It's the only series I've sat down & watched more than once right though.
Some funny moments with Sean too...that guy was funny...his face on the horse! |

It's more a question of what she DIDN'T do.
(CAUTION - S4 Spoilers in post below...) Basically she did little of the strategising, and got carried along. There were lots of very strong alpha types who basically stabbed each other in the back and the show ended up with mostly beta-types making it to the final rounds. It was a bit like MommaKim in S3. Vecepia was just darn lucky that things worked out the way they did. There were a lot of enteraining moments in the series. One tribe started off being decimated and it looked like they were going down, but a series of happenings led to a substantial power shift when two people jumped from one alliance to another, and turned the whole game upside down. It was much more incredible than Rob C's self-described "biggest power shift in the history of Survivor". The last few eps were less interesting though because when the Pagonging switched from one group to another and the result became reasonably inevitable, there was less to hold you. Still, I enjoyed seeing the whole thing within the space of a week!  |

I disagree SurvivorRevivor.
Vee was defiantly one of the best strategisers ever. Rich and Tina both agree she was probably smarter than they were. Vee silently led her fragile tribe in the beginning. When the switch came she made herself the most favorured member of her tribe. Became the fifth member of the rotu 4. Was the main factor in the "biggest power shift in Survivor history" hence getting Kathy on board and helping convince Paschal Neleh etc by telling them Rotu4's plans etc. In the final five she sparked a fight between Paschal and Sean to keep herself safe. Took notes down for the Quiz challenge and won. Joined in an alliance with Kathy which at that point was most advantageous as the jury still disliked Kathy. In the final three she "betrayed" Kathy and she made it to the final two and took advantage of Neleh (the most pathetic survivor evers) terrible performance. Sadly the fact that MB decided to hide her, considering all of the S4 castaways had long sotrylines, she was invisible a long time and because of the fact Kathy has been the biggest fan favourite out of anyone ever, and Vee "Betrayed" her (even thought it was stupid fucking Neleh who voted Kathy out) she remains heavily hated. |

Apart from that, she's a zealot, and hates homosexuals.
Also, Neleh didn't vote her out, Vecepia did. Neleh made a deal with Vecepia at the final IC and she agreed to vote out Kathy if she won immunity. |

But its not like Neleh hadn't stabbed someone in the back before.
It would kind of be like Kelly taking Rudy over Rich. It was more advantageous. Vee cannot be blamed for playing the game. |

I actually wasn't too much of a Kathy fan. She had some good skills but behaved like a bit of a fruitcake. However I do think she would have been a more deserving winner.
I disagree that Vecepia had such a strategic control of the game as Suehawka suggests. From memory I thought Sean was driving things a lot harder than her at the time of the 'power shift'. As for Neleh being 'the most pathetic Survivor ever', it was still a 4-3 vote. |

i think Jenna or Heidi was the most pathetic player ever. Vee wasn't too bad however the whole God thing and her favourite quote "there is too much draama in this camp" got slightly irritating.

I really enjoyed S4 and think most of it was down to watching it in three movie length instalments. Much easier to get to know the characters and see all the storylines emerging.
I'm not a Vee fan, but I have to admire her sheer cleverness in outwitting and outlasting the others. She took advantage of every rift, sat back and watched others fight her fights (Vale Sean) and always seemed to know when to jump ship. Count me as another who would've been happier with a Kathy win though. Vee's actions and interviews after the show really turned me off her, including how she presented herself as being a greater strategist than we saw in the game (rather than a very good opportunist) and her denigration of John's homosexuality (although to be fair, she could separate John the person from John the homosexual). Poor Neleh. She wasn't the most pathetic contestant ever by a long shot and I still remember the thrill of the moment that she woke up to what was going on and started to play Survivor rather than Island Holiday. While her role in the overthrow of the Rotu 4 cost her the overall game, she was certainly proactive in saving herself from being booted at F5 or F6. |
