Kolos, I'm sure we discussed some of those issues re I Am Legend back when it came out - I Am Legend. Just looking it seems I didn't post spoilers about the real ending after all.

Actually I also liked the dodos in Ice Age. They should give the Dodos and Scrat their own film.

Yeah, the dodos were good. That's something that I was cracking up about, but went right over the kids heads.

Yep, the dodos were good. A lot of their jokes were definitely for the adults in the audience.

Saw the proposal yesterday. I've always liked Sandra Bullock. Funny movie. Enjoyed it but was pretty predictable but i expected that!

Across The Universe
I was kind of hesitant to check this out after viewing the abortion that was Mamma Mia. Thankfully I did, as this is a wonderful film. For a musical, it doesn't feel hokey or melodramatic or whatnot, it just works. The Beatles songs are woven seamlessly into the storyline and you don't really question them. Visually, this is an exciting movie. There's a lot of colour and some really great creative sequences. My only complaint is that the plot sometimes jumped around a bit and I got confused on occasion. But this was a great film that fans of The Beatles should absolutely check out. Your Signature ...

Margot At The Wedding
This is Noah Baumbach's follow up to the fantastic The Squid and the Whale and well.. it sort of made me hate humanity. All of the characters are unlikable and impossible to sympathise with. The story lacks fluidity and direction and just all feels so pointless. This is very weak compared to Rachel Getting Married, which had similar themes but executed them much more effectively. This is a major disappointment. Your Signature ...

Edit: Oh right. I'm continuing with the DVD thing but I'm also watching movies on TV that I've been wanting to see. I do not have Margot At The Wedding on DVD. Your Signature ...

You must've missed my previous post. I'm home alone for the next couple of weeks and I took some time off work so I can actually get to relax for once.

I'm glad you cleared up the alphabet thing, Kolos. I was getting a bit concerned there, although whether it was for your lack of understanding the alphabet
or your rather screwy dvd collection I'm not quite sure.

Just rewatched Aliens as part of getting over the disappointment of not seeing Terminator 4 on the big screen. James Cameron's director's cut with the
additional colonists bits added is not my preferred version, but the only one I have on dvd. Ah well.

Seen The Proposal on saturday. Was a good movie, I loved Betty White in it. I think Ryan Reynolds wants to marry me as well.
I am watching The Breakfast Club on dvd. *sigh*. Love it. |

James Cameron's director's cut with the additional colonists bits added is not my preferred version, but the only one I have on dvd. Ah well.Yes, I agree. The one extra bit that should have been in the original was the bit with Ripley finding out about her daughter, as it explains her motivation for being so protective of Newt despite being pretty cynical about most of the others once they get caught. The rest - the colonist bits, and the bit with the robot sentry guns - can be skipped and the film is more powerful without the colonist bits. |
