Survivor: Samoa - Episode 6 |

WOW we knew something bad was gonna happen, but I didn't expect it to be that bad ......... I was actually a little freaked out at some parts during
Russell's collapse. Poor guy, the moment Jeff told him he was out and walked off (which seemed pretty cold on Probst behalf) and Russell started to cry was
really sad ... I hated when Jeff said that both tribes still had to vote someone off .... Though having both tribes at TC was awesome, and it was great seeing
the interaction between members of the opposing sides.... it was even more awesome when Jeff said no one would be voted off .... Though what would have been
more awesome was if Jeff said and "now you are merged" .. But thats probably not gonna happen for a few more episodes ....

Now that was one solid episode. I thought we'd seen dark days during Fans vs Faves in the ep that Kathy quit, but this one took the cake. That weather is
miserable - I sure as hell know I couldn't handle it.
I absolutely loved the eerie beginning, with Russell fishing on the beach, storms gathering around him, lightning cracking and the look of general unease on his face. Great editing, and really well scored, too. The entire Russell thing really was scary - here I was thinking Jeff was talking it up before hand, and it wasn't borne from a physical injury after all. True, it's sad that that's the way he had the leave the game, but I'm not sad to see him gone either. It just goes to show how tough of a game it can be though. My first reaction from Jeff announcing that no-one was going home that there'd be the merge or a shuffle or some sort of twist planned for the next ep in lieu, but it doesn't seem that way from next weeks preview. What I really liked about this ep that, come the end, there was actually no challenges (finished at least), and little-to-none in the way of strategy. The ep was all about the elements and the people against them. Very unique.

Thats what the show needs to realize, that it shouldn't always be about showing us about strategy, its the natural human nature and interaction thats most
interesting...

Yeah that was cool. A bit rough though that Foa Foa still had to vote someone out when Mike got evacuated, but I get the point that that was because they lost
the challenge where as this week the challenge didn't get finished. Probably worked in their favour though because they would have sent someone home
anyway.

I reckon it's good that nobody got voted off. Both tribes have had somebody evacuated now so it's evened the playing field up a bit.
I'm looking forward to the merge now, because it's getting pretty predictable each week on the tribes. Hopefully something happens to change it up a bit, but it looks like Monica and Liz are both sitting ducks, depending on which tribe wins the next immunity challenge. It'll be interesting to see what Shambo does if she makes the merge (which seems slightly more likely since the previews show the boys wanting to keep her around) because regardless of whether she sticks with the boys or if she decides to swap sides, she'd be at the bottom of the pecking order. ![]() |

Very sad ep with what happened with Russell - what an awesome person he is! I really wish he had not felt the need to push himself so much, like one of them
said earlier in the ep when they were all sheltering but Russell was keeping the fire going. And I really wish he'd sat out the challenge. Without a doubt,
he's one of my favourite Survivors ever so while I'm glad that he's okay, I'll really miss him in the game.
The producers did the right thing by deciding to have no one voted out, but I think they definitely should have given both tribes the pizza - they earned it. And if not that, then they should have at least given it to the tribe who was leading when Russell went down - which was Foa Foa, despite Galu's comments at TC. If they had voted, I think it would have been Liz and Monica who were out. Wow - 22 hours in a tree. I'd be praying to God too. And wasn't that rainbow beautiful? One funny thing - the comment "It's been 5 days of straight rain" - what, do they usually have crooked rain in Samoa? Or maybe stoned rain? |

Yeah the conditions in Samoa are harsh, they must be so miserable after all that rain.
Russell collapsing in the challenge was such a shock, didn't see that coming. Very sad. He was one of my favves too. |
