Well, that was interesting! Some good moments - Sandy - "How much is 10 paces"?
That was kind of making me think, oh boy, she's got to go, but on the other
hand I was hoping she'd stick around too, just for the "down-home hick" entertainment value. Carolina - her sweet, sickly, little girl voice was
grating on me, so I'm glad I don't have to listen to her for the next few months. But on the other hand, what she was saying down at the beach was
kind of right, so I was surprised they all voted for her because of that. I wish it was a longer ep so we could have seen more of how they came to the
decision that she was "bossy". As it was, we just quickly ended up at the Day 3 immunity challenge and then that was that.
As for Sierra, hey, I have a lot of sympathy for someone with tonsillitis, but really, that is going to hold her back cause with a temp of 102F in your body, and a temp of 120F outside, and with all that screaming at the immunity challenge - that is not a good mix. She'd be best to still look for that idol, cause I don't think she'll make it 39 days. Speaking of the Idol, I noticed how Jeff did not say (before reading the votes), "If anyone has the II, now's the time to use it", cause that would have alerted them that there was one. But what if Sandy wanted to use it? She obviously felt she was in big trouble, and didn't try to use it, so I don't think she has it. The voting kind of reminded me a little of Gabon - in that the young, outspoken girl (Michelle) got voted out over the older lady (Gillian). Now, as to Jeff's Blog - oh dear. Sydney better watch out, heh! And then there's this: I bet Sierra wins the whole thing! Ka-ching! Either that or she'll fall in love with a Survivor producer and make cute little Survivor babies.More oh dear. She wins the mill, or she wins more mills from marrying Jeff? We have something very special for you fans this season, it's a new Survivor philosophy, you might even call it a religion of sorts. IT goes by the name Coach. Stay open to IT. Stay open to Coach. Beautiful things may emerge if you just open your arms and accept what Coach can offer you. Salvation? I doubt it. Great laughs? Absolutely. Coach is a star. He was meant to be on Survivor. I only wish we could clone him. I'm already pushing CBS to do another All-Star season just so we can have him back.So I guess from that we can assume Coach goes deep into the game? Somebody please tell me - who is this Serena he keeps talking about? |

I think Serena is his new GF. Him and Julie broke up.
I think Coach will make it far.... and also will be one to look out for ..... I cant go into anymore details than that Also AO I think Sandy and Sierra could only play the idol at the first TC.... So sandy may not be able to play again. Not to sure, but I was trying to pick up on what it said in the treemail clue. |

Good first episode. Carolina = holy cleavage batman! Her voice was really annoying though as was her attitude most of the time so I was not disappointed to see
her leave. Plus, Sandy is good entertainment value.
I'm not sure who I like yet. Tyson is kinda cool so far, good comic relief. I like that type of attitude, that's how I would be. I like Sierra too, though she gives me Courtney vibes for some reason, probably just because she's blonde and skinny. I can't remember the rest of them. Your Signature ...

I didn't really get a feel for any of the cast, but it's certainly off to a good start. It hard a very Gabon-esque vibe for me as well, but given
Jeff's hinting I'd deduct that it's going to step into gear sometime soon and not relent. Which is good. There was far too much cohesion amongst
the tribes for my liking.

It didn't jump out at me an an incredibly exciting first episode to me. With only 16 players you'd think that they'd be able to give enough airtime to build at least a small storyline with each of them. The only ones that really stand out in my mind are Sierra, Coach, Sandy & Carolina, Didn't hear a peep out of Candace or Debbie, and all of the guys seem to blend into one (except army guy & country guy...JT?). Didn't mind either way who went, although it's a pity that yet again the spicy latina is a pre-merge boot...however when you run your mouth off, you've got it coming. I'm shocked that Sandy wasn't the first to go...She grates me up the wall just watching her in the episode, LET ALONE having to live with her. I quite like Sierra so I hope she manages to turn that initial impression around! I can't imagine Sandy lasting the next tribal council that her tribe goes to, and apart from Sienna, we haven't really been shown anybody else as a target on Timbira. The group of chracters seems quite good though, so I'm looking forward to getting to know them better. ![]() |

Oh I dunno LR, Sierra strikes me as a Lindsay (Africa) type. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
It was odd that there was not tribal dynamics shown, from either camp. It's all about the individuals right now, but maybe that's a good thing.

I love it more when its about the individuals or personal connections they have with someone else. Its more like the older days when it was edited that way.

Kinda unrelated, but I watched the first episode of Survivor: Africa last night. God, it was so much different back then. The pace was much slower, and they
showed more of the personal relationships and such. The immunity challenge was shocking, Jeff wasn't narrating it at all! It just had music playing in the
background. It was strange to watch.

Africa's the best. I actually don't mind the slow pace, because the character development is so much better than in subsequent seasons. Oh, and
Lindsey from Africa is a star! If only she'd have gone further. |

I agree, Africa is one of the best seasons. It's great watching it again as it's been 8 years since I last saw it so I've forgotten nearly
everything. I forgot how much of a douche Silas was. His arrogance was unbearable. But he went from being in the majority at Samburu to voted out at Boran in 1
episode which was awesome
