FOX has officially confirmed that 24 telemovie, which was last hovering in jeopardy with talk that it was distracting writers from the main game: the series itself.

But FOX has now confirmed the two-hour 24 movie will air on November 23 (and not November 24?) to appease viewers awaiting the new season in January.

The episode will be shot in South Africa. It will have Bauer battling an international crisis while the U.S. prepares for the inauguration of a new President.

Fox had eight episodes of 24 shot before the writer's strike, and production was already hampered by LA fires and Kiefer's brushes with the law. Rather than screen a short-run series the network decided to hold the show back until next season.

"As much as we all wanted it back on the air, this prequel came out of it," said Kevin Reilly, Fox's Entertainment president. "It's going to be a stand-alone, E-ticket ride in November."

If Seven is able to fasttrack the film, it could slate it into the final week of the ratings year in Australia. Holding it over until February the network would probably find fans have already downloaded it from the web.
