The media are reporting the astounding news that Britney Spears is expected to lip-synch some parts, if not all, of her shows.

Some are saying it is a rip-off and that she should sing the whole show. Others are saying that a Britney show is not like a Mariah Carey or Placido Domingo show and it's really more about a spectacle. Others are saying "Well, duh, of course she lip-synchs - everyone knows that." Others are saying that lip synching is all very well but...

There has been a big outcry in NSW over the past week or so about the possibility that one of the killers of noted heart surgeon Victor Chang may be released on parole shortly.

Here's the facts as I understand it:

Victor Chang was a leading heart surgeon and is credited with saving the lives of many people.

Two people broke into his house and tried to abduct him. Something went wrong, and Chang was killed.

The two men involved were both convicted...

Sculpture by the Sea 2009

This opened yesterday and is on for the next two weeks (closes Nov 15).

My pics to come later, but here is a pic of the major prizewinning sculpture. Sure to be controversial as it looks just like a massive rock. Which, in fact, it is.

Here's another controversial topic:

In 1977, director Roman Polanski, then aged around 44, brought a 13 year old girl back to a private home in the US and had sex with her. The very fact of her age means that this was rape. The girl's evidence was that she repeatedly asked him to stop.

Polanski was put on trial and pleaded guilty to statutory rape - which essentially means that while he did not necessarily acknowledge that she asked him to stop he accepted that...

I am visiting Australian relatives in Parramatta this November and then plan on a tour around Victoria and New South Wales. Any suggestions of things to see and do? We've already arranged trips to the Blue Mountains and the Hunter Valley as well as visits to Sydney ( of course). I was thinking about getting a backpacker pass for travelling around or is air travel really as cheap as the guidebooks claim?

The other day I was having a discussion with someone and we were just thinking about how many of certain things we think there are. Anyway, so I posed the question... "How many golf courses are there in the world?". I was outraged when he guessed a million...A MILLION?!! I said there was no way there is that many. We argued and in the end I stopped caring, until i brought it up to someone else and THEY said a million too!!! So it got me angry. I wanted to know how many golf courses...
